This has been an outstanding largemouth summer with the heat and humidity we had in July driving the water temp. into the low 80's on the surface. Soft plastics were the ticket in the slop and around the blowdowns. The pike have been slow this summer for the same reason. Unlike largemouth, pike do not like hot weather. So now that surface temps are back in the low 70's pike feeding is picking up again with them hitting spoons for the most part. Hammered Silver and Chartreuse 5 of Diamonds are getting the attention. Trout action is still very good with Wabblers and worms during the day down about 25 feet getting the bites. Night trout has roughly 2 weeks left before they turn off from the night bite.
See you soon!
